Since it is football season, I thought I would share something from former Arena football player, Lewis Howes. Lewis suffered a career ending injury which left him broke and without direction. He has since turned his life around and become a best selling author.
I love his article “HOW TO UNLEASH YOUR INNER GREATNESS AND KICK ASS” and refer to it frequently. Today, I want to share his 4 of his 9 points for unleashing your inner greatness.
- Focus on things you can control. Are you a worrier? Do you worry about things for which you have no control or responsibility? You control your own thoughts and actions. Don’t waste time worrying about what everyone else is doing and focus on your goal.
- Play to win. Put your best effort on the line and don’t play to lose.
- Leave it all on the playing field. Don’t hold back and if you “lose” do so gracefully,
- Forget failures. Learn from your failed attempts then forget them. Football players know this one well. The most important action they can take after dropping the ball is to develop amnesia about the mistake, not dwell on it for the rest of the game – or season.
Read the article above and decide what steps you are going to take to unleash your greatness.
